Neal’s Yard Remedies wins Sustainable Luxury Brand of the Year
We’re celebrating! We are extremely proud to have won Sustainable Luxury Brand of the Year at the Walpole British Luxury Awards 2023.
The annual awards celebrate Britain’s luxury brands and the individuals whose work helps to define the creativity, innovation and global cultural relevance of Great Britain.
Selected by a panel of industry experts, we’re humbled to be acknowledged for our consistent progress in applying sustainability best practice to all aspects of our business and for our long-standing campaign to protect biodiversity and bee populations in the UK.
Receiving the award, owner Anabel Kindersley reflected on our ongoing commitment to sustainability.
“Sustainability has been at the heart of what we’ve been doing for the last forty years, before the term ESG and beautiful awards such as this were a thing. Sustainability has never been just a business strategy for us – we feel a responsibility to uphold and ensure the decisions that we make today contribute to a sustainable environment for the wellbeing of our future generations.”
“I’m super proud of our 30-year-old ethical supply chain, supporting and continuing to support communities around the world. I’m proud of our own eco-manufacturing facility in Dorset and truly being able to sow, grow and bottle in the UK. And I’m proud that we are not afraid to stand up for what is right and that we will support nature and biodiversity for years to come – these are the things that truly matter.”
To close, Anabel ended by acknowledging the vital role of collaboration in driving a more sustainable future. “This award is for all the brands working so hard in this field, who are doing the right thing for a better future – we are all in this together.”
Sustainable Fashion Editor Bay Garnett, who presented the award to Neal’s Yard Remedies remarked, “The calibre of nominations in this category was extremely high. This business […] has not only used its voice to raise environmental awareness amongst its customers but also at the highest echelons of political power.”
Leading the way for responsible beauty and wellbeing since 1981, we have been committed to creating high-performing, natural and organic products in a way that respects and preserves the biodiversity of our planet.
Not resting on our laurels following this incredible win, we are always looking at ways of lessening our environmental impact; from championing and campaigning for causes such as the Stand by Bees campaign, to committing to taking a stand against unnecessary waste by removing the cardboard boxes from many of our products, saving approximately 5 tonnes annually.
