Bowen Technique

The Bowen Technique is applied to specific areas of the body and using thumbs and fingers in a roll-like movement, pressure is applied to help mobilise soft tissue. As a complementary therapy, it takes a holistic approach to wellbeing and can be used to help relieve feelings of stress or anxiety as well as promote a sense of relaxation.

What to expect during your session

At your initial consultation, your therapist will ask about your medical history and discuss with you the symptoms you’d like to address during your session. After your initial consultation, your therapist may ask for you to take a drink of water to hydrate you cells before your treatment can start. Applying light, precise roll-like movements at specific points of the body, your therapist will take regular breaks to allow your body to rest between sets of movements. These breaks increase the effectiveness of subsequent movements.

After your treatment your therapist will give advice on any physical or emotions changes you may feel, as well as recommendations on any follow-up appointments required.
